I'm not sure what the amount of goodies you can bring back to whatever your home country  is, but if you're under the limit of $$$$$ then no worry. I hardly ever bring anything back to the USA from the far east so I can't help you there. It should not anything to worry about.

A few years ago I brought tunubung back to the USA, listed it on the customs form.  Got pulled aside, they showed me the tunubung, said I did not claim it.  Pointed to "tunubung" on the customs form, guessing the people in NY did not know what it was.  They said I cannot bring grass into the USA.  Told them the bamboo was dead, plenty of dead bamboo  products are brought into the USA, happened to have a bamboo shirt with me.  Asked them if they wanted to see what was inside.  They declined, told me I should not bring any tunubung into the USA in the future, but let me keep what I brought in this time.  I was prepared to crack it open and eat the coconut and rice inside.  Might have been a bigger deal in Hawaii, they don't like anything organic coming to the islands.

I brought 3 laptops on one trip and no one questioned it.

let me just say there is a lot of ignorance on the part of USA customs. they memorize the BAD list of stuff that is not supposed to enter the USA and try to make your stuff fit into that list, haha.

And they deem most anything outside of the usa as being NOT good.
