Hello everyone...I have been married with an american 10 years ago..And now, our marriage is only tied up in a marriage contract..Does anybody know or will give me any piece of advice what to do?? My knowledge upon my rights is very narrow. And i want to do something, any suggestions where do i start?? Thank you...

Are you asking how to end the marriage?

If you are in the Philippines, you can only annul, which takes 6 months to 2 years and costs more than P150K. Depends a great teal with the honesty and speed of the attorney though..

Mary O-Have you tried talking to an attorney? There are some out there who offer free initial office

consultations.I have been fortunate to find two here who also helped me with legal matters. Good luck and

take care!

I wonder too what you ry tio reach.
As Skip said concerning ending marriiage.
Or just wait at the foreigner make divorce abroad., which can make it some less hard in Phils.,

Are yyou doing your best to earn yourself to cover your needs but diont earn enouh anyway??
If so you have right to some support STAYING married.
If NOT staying married it depend of where the foreigner live/make divorce if get nothing or much  :)

Any kids who the foreignrer is father to??
If Yes, does he pay support for them?  Except iuf tey live with him,.
If he is father but dont pay support - If he live in Phils, then go to barangay captain where he live or one of the closest neihbour baranggays and  file a case.  If he has moved to his home country, then try to ask their embassy or better in the country if they solve. (For instance in Sweden the government FORCE pay from the not supporting if its proven he is the father- IF he has any to take. It cost a yearly fee (sixhundred Swedish kriona = a bit over 3000 pesos)  which is small compared to what they often manage to get to forward to the child caretaker.)

At baranay captain both sides are suppoused to manage WITHOUT lawyer, but you can need to go there.
If more complicated ask PAO if they assist.  IF they do itsfree but they have time oinly for a few of the needing.

Coach 53  gives you a clear path. Let me know any update.  Are  married here in the Philippines or in the US . Is the marriage legally registered? Do u have kids?
What specifically are looking for ?
A financial support?
To end the marriage by annulment?
These are legal matters where an attorney can help you better.
