Work Pass vs EP

Hi,
I worked in Singapore on EP in IT field from 2008 to mid 2018. Then left job due to personal reasons and since then has been on DP. I again worked for 10 months in 2020 but on DP and with less salary than previously on EP. Now I've been selected for a job but EA offering work pass (not S-Pass) that will be linked to my spouse EP rather than an EP for myself. The agency is though offering the salary (25% higher than previously on EP) that meets SAT tool EP salary requirement for my experience. The selected job is related to my past experience, however I have below questions

1. Will working on work pass jeopardize my chances of getting an EP later in future? How it would be viewed by future employers?

OR

2. Is it better to take the offer even though on work pass as the salary offered is meeting the SAT tool since prospective employers offer salary comparative to the last drawn?

Thanks in advance for your advise.

It?s a decision you ought to make professionally. An approval/ pass type is tied to a specific employer, you seem to be confused between a pass type versus salary here.

As an employer, the most important criteria they look for or fetch is if you have the righteous skills, experience and drive to do a job- next employer could get you an EP.

The other limitations based on pass type sure apply, again, as I mentioned, you gotta see what works best for you.

I assume you mean Work Permit (WP).
I am not sure if you are aware that WP has a number of disadvantages over other kinds of work pass (e.g. EP). For example, you have to stay in employer-provided housing (usually the infamous dormitories). Is that what you want?
However, I am puzzled by your remark "work pass (not S-Pass) that will be linked to my spouse EP". There is NO such work pass! (There was, in the past, a possibility to work on DP - which is tied to your spouse' EP - and an LoC. But that has been abolished a few months ago and is no longer available!)

Thanks, Shekhz and Beppi for your response.

Yes, its a work permit. When a Dependent Pass holders gets a work permit, it is tied to the dependent pass. Please refer below MOM link

It doesn't have restrictions as for a conventional individual work permit holder. My query is if a higher skilled individual (actually eligible for EP) work on a work permit work, will it have negative impact for future hiring as usually work permit is considered for lower skills and EP is for higher skilled individuals?

Oh, that's new, probably introduced in replacement of the (recently abolished) LoC.
Good to know and thanks for posting this!
Sorry, but we cannot tell you how a potential future employer would view your employment and visa history. Only they themselves will be able to tell!
But you can expect that, just like the LoC was before, this "WP on DP" route will remain unknown to most employers.

Beppi: In my post above, did mention, it?s a decision he needs to make. Yes, this is new and does not entail company accommodation I.e. dormitories etc.
