Looking for information on the various areas in Düsseldorf

Post new topic

Puddlduck

Im moving to Düssledorf in October and am just starting the early stages of my Wohnung hunting now.. I will be working in Henkel in Holthausen.

I've only been over a few times and am not familiar with the various areas of the town and would love some advice on the pros, cons of the various "Stadtkreise"

- I dont want to be too far away from work in Holthausen however Holthausen itself doesnt seem to have alot going on!
- I was thinking perhaps Benrath, but is this a bit far out?
- Any other suggestions? Any areas I should definitely avoid!?

Thanks a mil guys!!

All the best

Hi Anna,

I moved to Dusseldorf one year ago and I am happily settled down in Stockum. It is just 10 min.with U-bahn to the Altstadt, 5 min.with bus to the airport and the area is very quiet and safe.
Mainly families with small children living in the area. The Nordpark is there for some nice walks or jogging.
My colleague lives in Ratingen, finds it quite nice too.

I would avoid Oberbilk, not a nice place for living.

Wish you good luck!:-)
