Hi Grant,

Welcome on board!

Lots of useful information in the Mauritius expat guide, worth reading it. What is needed, how to find a job, where to live, you will get all the information.

There are different kinds of permits/visas/options for people who wish to live here (long or short term).

Professionals (employed) need a job contract to be eligible for an occupation permit. This permit allows them to stay and live here.  The job contrat should offer you a minimum salary of Rs 60,000 (in general)  or  Rs 30,000 in ICT,pharmaceutical, food processing sector.

"A Professional should earn a monthly basic salary of at least MUR 60,000. For Professionals in the sector of information and communication technologies (ICT), business process outsourcing (BPO), pharmaceutical manufacturing and food processing, the monthly basic salary should be at least MUR 30,000."
