Hi All,

Can please some advice on the produce of receiving the apple gadget in Mauritius? I expect to receive few units from HK. Do we need to pay customs duty, if yes how much? Do we need to get a pre-approval before receiving the product or the carrier will do all arrangements? Do we have to go personally for collection or it will be doorstep delivery?

Please advise.

Hello Salman,

For products as from Rs 1000.00 you will have to pay taxes as follows : https://www.mra.mu/index.php/customs1/t … ms-chargeshttps://www.mra.mu/download/ImportedGoods.pdf

Home delivery will depend on your service provider.

Be prepared to get questioned like a criminal. They will hold your items in customs and will ask silly questions just because you are able to afford items of luxury. Speaking from personal experience.

Hope things will go smoothly. As these items are for sample purposes, still do we have the VAT on them?
