I read the fire was in 8th of May 2021, is there a more recent fire? Was the area rebuilt since?

Fishermans Village is in ashes today after a fire early this morning. The second time after a complete burn down in May 2012 after which it was rebuilt.

I'm not aware of any fire there in May of this year. We are there at least once a week. The one Lennox mentioned back in 2012 is the only other one I'm aware of.

Today's fire started at Campo Kitchen (west end) at about 6:45. By noon, the entire strip, and all 14 restaurants, were reduced to rubble. The Mosquito Art Bar across the street is still standing, but from the pictures I've seen, I'm guessing it will have to come down - the entire thing is charred.

One of the worst things is that there is really only one route to Playa Ballenas and the dozens of hotels, apartments, homes, and restaurants along that beach.

As of now, the road in front of the Pueblos is closed and they have had to open a private road that fortunately had been designated an emergency evacuation route. Because it's been private, I don't know the condition or how passable the road is. We might be venturing down it today.
