Sputum exam connects in unclear xray

If you haven't held a residence visa for the last 6 months, new visa.  If you cancelled within the 6 month period, then old visa.

“If there are clear TB scars in your lungs (Evidence of past TB) and you are a new visa holder (i.e. haven't held a UAE residence visa in the last 6 months) “
is this still applicable?

Yes

Guest7824

@XTang hi, Can you please tell me how does it work for dependent mother, My mother got a message to follow up - I am her sponsor - Does the rule remains same for her too?

XTang

It should not be a problem for your mother as she is on a dependent visa.

Guest7824

@XTang Thanks a lot!! Typically how many days does it take to have the result after follow up?

XTang

It can vary a lot.

qwerty24

@XTang hi, can you work if you come on dependant visa with old tb scars?

XTang

You are NOT allowed to work on a dependant visa, period.............scars or no scars.

qwerty24

@XTang with a work permit is what I meant. Will they issue work permits on dependent visa if you have old tb scars?

XTang

I think you are confusing different things.

You either get a work visa or a dependant visa. There is medical for both. If you have old TB scars, you will get a dependant visa which only allows you to live in the UAE but not work. You cannot work without a work visa / permit and you won't get that with TB scars.   You having a dependant visa does NOT make it any easier to get a work visa - they have totally different requirements.

Hi I am planning to do the same. I will go to UAE under my husband visa. I have a 18 year lung scarring. As per other friends, you can work even you are holding a spouse visa. Your sponsor will sign the NO Objection Certificate, for you to be able to have working permit. But I also don't know if there is an issue in our case. I will bring all the necessary medical records. Make it apostile/ attested in my country.  Will update. My flight would be in august.

XTang

Again, please read all that I have written.

Try and understand the process.  You have a residence visa and a work permit.  For the sake of simplicity, In majority of the cases, these are the same e.g. your husband's sponsor and employer is his company.  Whereas your sponsor is your husband but he is NOT your employer.  So if you want to work, your sponsor (husband) has to give an NOC for a WORK PERMIT to be applied for you by your employer.  So simply, you remain on your husband's sponsorship but get a work permit from an employer.

The problem is that you will not get a work permit if you are deemed to be medically unfit.

Hope it's clear now?

@XTang

Expat students enrolled with UAE universities, members of diplomatic corps and leading investors will be allowed to apply for a new visa even if they have scars from cured TB since they belong to the exempt categories that also include spouses, parents and children of current UAE residents.

XTang

Do you belong to the first category?

For the second, I have already said this repeatedly i.e. dependent visa is not an issue.   Your question was completely different and was around work permit.  The above is about residence visa for dependents.  First category only is about work visa (excluding students).

Ml Gaming

@XTang

I will just try my luck, but I will not go to battle without a sword. I will bring all my attested medical certificate that I am fully cured. I have more than 3 months to complete it. If its not meant for me then I'll accept. Atleast I'll try in every possible way. Like my husband says. You'll never know the result if you won't try!🙂 Best of luck for me.

XTang

Sure.  Good luck.

@suhail60 hi. I just gave my sputum and blood samples yesterday but they didn't asked me to come again? They too two samples of each one.

I'm a little bit worried because everyone has given three samples of sputum for follow up.

I asked the lady in the lab she said that it you don't need to visit again.

I also asked the person in block 7 he also said same. Are there any changes or am I missing something?

sandiemehta2983

@KSR1993 hi , what was your final result. I am also thinking of getting the broncoscopy done for a similar situation for my brother. Can you share more details or can i talk with tou?

Ml Gaming

@Daniyal Raza 1 sputum sample is for gene expert, test also for tb detection.

@XTang my father who setup business here aged 73 (partner visa). Had mild scar (i asked from xray guy). He has rhemutology issues also. He is also unclear.he is saying that once in 1980 he was treated maybe for tb. But he is fine. So what are chances. As his age and partner new visa. He is living with us more than year (on visit visa inside change)

XTang

No one can answer that.  You have to go through the process and see.

MQK86

My father age 73 has been living with us here for more than one and half year (visit visa extension). Now he setup a business license and applied for partner visa. He has Rhemutoligy related issues (ra factor) and on medication. He is healthy. Today we went for his medical fitness test. I asked xray guy he said there is something. Now i checked it showing "follow up in process". My father told that back in 1980 he had some treatment related to TB. but after that he has well healthy.

So what are his chances.

MQK86

@XTang thanks. Lets hope for good

MQK86

@XTang ALHAMDULILAH. He is fit. In follow up they took blood samples and sputum and decleared fit

Guest7824

Would there be a problem having a partners visa if you have past TB scar?

XTang

@MK86:  Good news.  They don't create issues for dependent visas anymore.

@Niel: No issue on dependent visa.  But you can't work here.

Smrithy

@KSR1993 what is your update?

Stanix

@Daniyal Raza

hi is there any update on this? what happened?

MNS1

@XTang

Hi Xtang,

Need your kind guidance please.

i was asked for the retest at Muhasinia. Upon seeing the doctor, she asked a few queries regarding tb, surgery etc since they noticed some scar in my xray. I have no history of tb or surgery.

They advised me for the block 10 where I was handed over 2 bottles for sputum & a blood test was done.

Its been 3 days & i’m still waiting for the result while I cant even function.

Also, I was asked to get the sputum for a single day only while as i read many posts, most of the people had sputum test for 3 consecutive days.

whats the difference between both?

XTang

Forget about the irrelevant items. Just wait for outcome.

Hi Xtang,

I am first time in UAE (Abu Dhabi) on employment entry permit. I secured a job here and have joined the company with the ongoing visa formalities.

No history of TB for me or any family member. But the Capital Health Screening Centre in Abu Dhabi found some traces of scar on my lungs and next day took a Sputum test, which I upon enquiry later turned out to be clean for any TB. However, the officer told that as per policy since I am a first timer in UAE, the Sample has been now ben referred to the Department of Health for culturing 6-8 weeks, as such the results will be pending for ~2 months. Wanted to check if:  Is this the actual rule/policy? Should I be worried?

XTang

As I have said many times before, any abnormality in a chest x-ray is investigated further.  Sputum test is done and a further culture test may be requested.  A culture test is much more sensitive and can pick bacteria even in low amounts.

Your question on policy is irrelevant and nonsensical - you went to a testing facility in UAE that is governed by MOH rules and is not inventing rules because, simply, they are not allowed to (CH is owned by Mubadala which in turn is owned by the AD sovereign fund) and they told you that they are doing another test.   Whether it's policy or not, does it matter?   it's not like you have a choice.

Requesting a culture test, whether or not policy, can also be a medical decision.  What I am trying to say is that even if it wasn't policy, there is NO way you can challenge it.  Just accept it and go with the process.

Daniyal Raza

@Stanix Hi, they declared me unfit to work after that. I cancelled visa and came back and didn't follow up with Al Muhesna medical center because I knew it would put me in permanent ban list. Now what are my chances of getting visa again it's been a year.

XTang

No chance.  Ban or no ban, they have the records and you have scars on your lung.  All you managed to gain was the ability to come back to UAE on a visit visa.   You won't ever get a work visa with the current rules.

@Daniyal Raza sir did u get the

Rahul Dongre

@XTang Hi, thank you so much for your opinion i have read your all comments.

Pls reply i have a question:

I recently put my wife new visa under my/husband sponsorship, she went through medical but she has scar on lungs because of TB and phnenonia 5/6 year bac, but currently she dont have anything above stated.

They called for Muhaisnah for further followup. Will she get visa ? And market fir?

is it ok if we do sputum test from outside and show them that we dont have TB just for our conformity also.

Please suggest

XTang

As I have said before, there is no issue for dependent visa.

Rahul Dongre

Thank you so much
