Good luck.  I can’t give you the information that you need, though I’m sure that Toon will be able to give you any information that you need. 👍👍.  He is very helpful on this site.
Toon
Good luck .. you will be made welcome of that am sure ...... It may be harder it may be not so hard the final decision as to what the new criteria is has not as yet been passed by parliament ...so  either get in now or as soon as possible or wait and see.....

@Toon
my move depends on the sale of property in Ukraine, but it is not for sale yet, of course.

@Toon
Can you please tell me the criteria for what?
Toon
Criteria required to live here as a legal resident as a current non EU national . Lets hope Ukraine become a member of the EU. As that makes things much easier for you

Good Morning Everyone

We are Tracey and Neil from Lincolnshire in the UK. We are into the second half of our fifties and starting to think seriously about our retirement which we are hoping will be in Cyprus.

We are actually in between homes at the moment, in the UK, having sold up but things have gone awry with the purchase of our new home. That means cash is in the bank so, if I could find some work in Cyprus, it might be a good moment to contemplate moving now.

Has anyone any thoughts? Any ideas on how I might find work? I am an SME Finance manager.

Toon
Welcome ....Are you fully qualified.. as that will make a difference .. work here is difficult now that UK are out of the EU.... as you may know Brits are now third in line behind Cypriots and EU natonals.. you need to have a skill that is in demand and a work permit .... Plus the other routes to residency now do not allow working here

See the thread Finding Work
Neil Holmes

@Toon Thanks for that. I am qualified but as a Bookkeeper rather than an Accountant. I'll check out the link that you suggest.

Toon
Just a thought if it's your intention to get residency via investment I think that does allow working. but the investment is large €300k min excl vat

But please any questions create a thread to keep replies on topic of interest

Hi all,

Currently working for the RAF at Akrotiri. We always wanted to use this posting as a stepping stone to reside here and set up a glamping business. Cyprus has been close to our heart, I met my wife who was serving here in 2017, we got married here and have currently been here for a year this time. We have 2 young children who are having the time of their lives (as expected). We are in the process of buying and planning the business. I joined the forum mainly for help and advice from like minded people.

Thank you

Hi all,

my husband and I are new to this site but we have shown a lot of interest in all your posts and reply’s. After 24 years visiting Cyprus we are now in the process of retiring to Cyprus. We have sold our property in the Uk and are buying a property in Letymbou village which we have  had stayed in many times and had some lovely holidays over the years.

The process to become a long term resident in Cyprus seems a lot more complex since Brexit, we now need to find a good Cyprus lawyer to assist us with this along with the purchase of the property and we would be grateful for any recommendations of Lawyers which anyone has used for their move to Cyprus. There seems to be a million and one organisations that will provide removals services to Cyprus so we would also be grateful for any recommendations that anyone on here as used for their move to Cyprus from the UK.

Thankyou in advance

Julie &Colin

As an EU national it is very easy... When UK was in EU  we did our MEU1 (2014) AND MEU3 (2019) ourselves and it was easy to do without a lawyer as long as you had the documents as per the issued check list .... It's now considerably more difficult now for Non EU Brits.... Especially in terms of financial requirements and healthcare cover ....

Welcome Julie and Colin :-)

You will find a lot of what you need on this forum. Toon is a wealth of information and there are others as well. If you do not find what you need just shout out someone else would have gone thru it I'm sure and be able to help.

There are several recommendations for removals and legal help. I am a little behind you so do not have a personal recommendation yet.

Julien
