i am Ian from the U.K. I will be moving to Kuwait in October to work for a company there.

I will be looking to integrate into Kuwait life but need some friends to get along with. I would like to get out there and enjoy life and laughs if anyone wants to tag along? Will most likely join a shooting club to go once a week but if anyone has any good ideas please get in touch. I will be Salmiya based once there.

@Julien I'm Louise Burfitt-Dons.  I was born in Magwa Hospital in 1953 and lived in Ahmadi for many years.  I am no longer an expat and now live in the UK.  As an author of crime novels, my latest book has biographical elements in it from 1960 Kuwait.  Therefore I thought perhaps some  of your forum users might be interested in the details of it when it pubishes next month.

Its a nice thread for introduction. I have been living in Kuwait for more than 17 years. Its a wonderful country and very close to my heart. I love the beaches here. wonderful atmosphere and so much peaceful.

Greetings!  I’m a French-American who after a long sojourn in Turkey, will be moving to Kuwait in January for work.  I’m a former Headmistress returning to the simplicity of a classroom, which is where my heart is.

I definitely want to learn Arabic in the Kuwaiti dialect so not to be THAT kind of expat, and really enjoy how learning new languages keeps the firing of synapses sharp. 

Being in Turkey has shown me I can hang in a predominantly Islamic country, and I do love cultural traditions and anything vastly different from what I already know. 

It seems I really become an extrovert once abroad - so very open to meeting others and sharing experiences !
