My wife and I have been visiting her family in Panama for the last 15 years. I lived her for 4 months during the pandemic.

Will be coming down again from January to April

From USA Connecticut and close to retirement, thinking of a snowbird place here.

I will be staying in a gated resort known as Bijou that is 30 minutes west of Coronado

Anyone staying near there and has questions, let me know, we have stayed in that area at least 20 times

Looking forward

Hi

I have been to all of them!  Panama City and Coronado dozen of times, Boquette once.

Boquette is very nice, lots of shops and restaurants, many there are from Canada or USA so not speaking Spanish is no issue

The climate is very nice, since you are in the mountains, the nights are nice and weather does not get overwhelming (it can in Panama city)

That location is also close to Panama's most beautiful beaches such as Boca del Toro

Panama city is like a mini New York.  Lots of nightlife if you like that (I don't anymore:) lots of hussle and bussle.  When in the city we like Sortis Hotel or the RIU

Coronado is the beach area, if you love the beach like me, this is the area to be.  Also just 20 minutes from Coranado there are lots of ocean resort/condo areas that you can live, that area has grown 100%

since I have been going down there since 2011

hope this helps

@Julien

hello, I’m from Austin, Tx and looking to spend a little over a month in Panama. First time here, I’m interested in hiking, swimming, spending time meeting new people. Hoping to find a good landing stop when I fly in to Panama City.

I’ll be there Nov 1 to Dec 5.

any advise on where to start is appreciated!

My wife and I will be there one day before you. We, too, are looking for things offered and suggested by the crew!

Hello everyone,

my name is Lizzette. Currently I live in New York.  I hope to relocate to Panama with my children in the near future. I 've been visiting for the last 6years. In August I visited an international school and met with my attorney and went to immigration to start the process. I was hoping for 2024 but I am not sure as I dont know what employment options I could find or if I could find a remote from anywhere type of job. Either way I am dreaming of the future. 1f600.svg

Hi

If you like Cool Weather Boquete or anywhere in Chiriqui will be the best place for you

Thanks

pinzonperez

@dmtyler61

If you dont like very crowded cities I recommend you to visit Chiriqui or Pedasi

Thanks

kristc99

@pinzonperez  I'm confused. Did I recommend Coronado to someone? I don't see a post from me. Anywhere with lots of expats tend to be expensive.

kristc99

@pinzonperez We live in David and if you don't like crowds, don't go downtown here. Ditto if you don't like heat. Any low lying areas in Chiriqui are going to be hot. Cool is only in the mountains. Come check it out sometimes and you'll see what I am saying.
