sweetyina64

Shekhz

@sweetyina64 and your question is?

hwalima1nomie

@sweetyina64

Hi

My name is Joel and I am a zambian citizen who

Wants to come work in Singapore

Can i get a work permit when am there in Singapore

hwalima1nomie

@beppi

Is it possible for one to come with out a visa and

Start processing a work permit if I am there

beppi

@hwalima1nomie You can come to Singapore an a visitor visa (STVP) and look for a job here. But since work visa applications take longer than the standard STVP duration (30 days), you would have to return to your country to wait for the visa.

You are better advised to apply for jobs from abroad.

worla

@beppi please can I have a secured site where I can apply for jobs in Singapore

beppi

@worla I have no idea what you mean by "secured site", bt you can find various Singapore job ads sites with Google or by reading related threads on this forum. If you find additional good ones, please come back and post them here!

Hi All

Nice to meet you!

AmoDiallo

Hello Everyone

I am senegalese and i project to go Studies and work in Singapore, i think i don't need a Visa, if i am incorrect please let me know, and tell me what do you think about the Project! is it a possibilty to hold a permanent Residency in this Country!

Thank you!!

Regards....

beppi

@AmoDiallo All nationalities need a visa to live, work or study in Singapore - only short visits are possible without one.

Furthermore, you cannot work AND study - the available visa options allow either one or the other.

Elizabethndjock

Hello everyone,

My name is Elizabeth I live in Cameroon and I'm planning to move to Singapore.

I'm 20 years old and I'm a human resources assistant I would like to know the conditions for me to easily find a job because all that I have been trying hasn't been working.

I'm planning to move in a month and I need a place where I can stay .

Would be glad to obtain some help.

Thanks.

beppi

@Elizabethndjock On this forum, you can find lots of advice on finding a job in Singapore, as well as what visa options are available. How much of it did you read and follow so far?

Since finding a job and getting a work visa is not possible in such a short time, I assume you are not moving next month but merely visiting. If so, you (by law) cannot rent a place without residence visa and thus are limited to (expensive) hotels or serviced apartments - unless you stay with fiends or relatives for free.

beppi

@Elizabethndjock I see that you also posted a job search ad on this site. But unfortunately it is partially in French (which is not spoken in Singapore) and stated a salary expectation far higher that anything you can realistically achieve. As such, it will only hinder your search!

Hello everyone,

thank you to the members of this forum who give us valuable advice for our installation in Singapore and on the different ways of integrating ourselves there.

I am Cliff, a 25-year-old electromechanical and sailor (seafarer) with 3 years of experience in the industrial environment.  I am currently working in the Dominican Republic and I plan to move to Singapore in February 2023, if you could tell me about the different housing options there are in Singapore, give me some tips on how to get a job and serve me  guide, I would be grateful.

Thank you in advance for your answers

beppi

@augustecliffalin Most of the questions you are asking (and many others you may have) are already answered on this forum and in the Singapore Guide (https://www.expat.com/en/guide/asia/singapore/). Please spend some time reading both - and feel free to come back topost here detailed issues that were not yet addressed. Good luck!

rapheallandry

Hello everyone, my name is Tchouassi Tchouamani Raphael Landry, and I'm new in the group. I'm a Cameroon, and i'm a teacher in a lay private primary school. I'm a native English speaker, with a good mastery in French and well. I intend to move to Singapore, and I solicit a link with any job vacancy available. Thanks

Bhavna

Hello Raphael,

Welcome on board !

Please drop an advert in the Jobs in Singapore section of the website so that potential employers might have a look your CV.

I also recommend that you read the Finding a job in Singapore article to know more about how you can land a job.

All the best

Bhavna

@rapheallandry Becoming a teacher in Singapore's public schools requires, besides native English, a recognised university degree in pedagogy and the subjects you intend to teach - plus at least three years applicable work experience. Jobs are filled by the Ministry of Education, which you should contact.

You may also try to apply at the French-speaking international schools. I do not know their requirements, though.
