Hi everyone,

Two years after the start of the pandemic, it is time to take stock of the evolution of the cost of living in Kuwait or more specifically, in the region where you live. The idea is to help people get ready for their expatriation to Kuwait to plan their day-to-day budget for some key expenses.

If you are a tenant, what is your monthly rent? Please give details of the type of property you are in.

How much are your monthly charges (water, electricity, common area maintenance charges, etc.) and additional expenses (mobile phone and/or internet box subscriptions)?

How much do you spend on commuting (by public transport or using your car) each month?

How much does your grocery shopping cost in Kuwait?

How much do you spend on health care (health insurance, consultations, etc.)?

How much are your children's school fees, depending on the type of school they attend?

What about your budget for leisure activities?

Do not hesitate to indicate other everyday costs if they could be useful to others.

Thank you for your contribution :)

Hi

In Kuwait, monthly rents are based in locations and types building. Economic apartments are available in many areas as low as 250 KD for 2BHK. But no facilities like gym or shaded oarking. Furnished 2BHK starts from 300 KD in Mahboula, Fintas, Abu Halifa areas. In Bneid Algar it starts from 450 KD.

Electricity, water and others are not quite expensive, may cost you around 240 KD a year.

School fee starts from 150 KD per term In Indian curriculum, American and British Curriculum starts from 500 KD per term.

Commuting based on the vehicle that you own. Of course American and European super brands are expensive than Japanese, could be around 50-100 KD per month.. Cost of fuel is nothing as its price is quite cheaper.

Restaurants eat out once again based on your food habits. Casual dine at Malls could be around 10-15 KD per person.

On the entertainment side, regular theme park rides and others like scientific centers costs around 4 KD whereas Kidzania and 360 Mall high end parks  will cost over 10 KD.

Family health insurance is still bit expensive in Kuwait which may cost around 500 KD for a family of 4.

Kuwait is still competitive place on the earth which provides safe and healthy environment and of course with reasonable cost of living.
