Hi Anna,

Perhaps this CNN Portugal TV report will answer your question:

"Portuguese banks are closing accounts to Russian citizens and not letting them open new ones"

This absolutely shocking. I wasn't aware that this went so far. I hope tat you can find financial institutions that have not yet lost their mind.

I agree with you, but unfortunately this is happening in other countries as well ...

Better move to a country that welcomes Russians, such as UAE. Go where you're treated best. Many Russians don't support what's happening in Ukraine.

@JohnnyPT I think that this is a very bad Kama. It shines a very bad light on countries that allow this to happen.

Hello, it is possible to open a bank account with a Russian passport with the new Nickel bank! Super easy and only 20€ which is really cheap

JohnnyPT

Just to inform you that Nickel bank:

- IS NOT member of SIBS, the Portuguese ATM & POS network

- it is a fintech operating in Portugal through BNP Paribas, and HAS NO branches nor a retail banking operation in Portugal.

Hi and welcome,

I'd suggest you and/or "your client" do an search for "Portuguese Banks" using any popular search engine and then contact whichever banks your popular search engine lists as a result. Select the maybe 8 banks and send each a message in English and Portuguese (use online translator if your Portuguese is poor) asking the question you have asked here, maybe miss the "my client" bit out as this may be taken to have a different meaning than you probably expect. PM me if you need further guidance on how to contact banks.

It used to be called collective punishment.

However, it's only a crime when bad people do it, but never when the good guys engage in criminal acts.
