SPass Rejection and Appeal

mavenda
My SPass was first applied on 18 March and was rejected on the 28th of March. The reason for rejection was about the job posting.

The job posting has to be in the jobs bank for 28 days before I can be applied an SPass for the position. Since there was only 1 reason for rejection, I assume that we only need to fulfill the waiting time of 28 days for the job posting to be in the jobs bank. So after 28 days that the job posting was in the jobs bank, we applied for an appeal the next day. We attached a link of the job posting.

It has been a week since the appeal. I wonder if there could be any reasons that I get rejected. I was told that we only need to address the reason for rejection because all the other aspects already passed the assessment and if the reason for rejection was fulfilled, the application should be approved.

And for this kind of matter, how long will the appeal be processed? I have worked in Singapore since 2012 and I have had my fair share of approvals and rejections in various companies. What are the chances that my appeal will be approved?

Applications are reviewed all over again, MoM may come back with an approval or an additional information ask with a time duration for you to furnish the info. Should be a smooth sail if you have been around and the company has provided all basic information. However, if they missed the basic element of posting the job for 28 days before applying, just shows that the submitter is inexperienced.

We fulfilled the 28 days minimum of job posting. And the guidelines for job posting was followed. Do you think that job posting which was the cause of initial rejection was a small issue with MOM? And now that the application have been appealed after fulfilling the requirement, do you think it will be approved this time?

Is it true that 85% of the SPass appeal will be decided within 3 weeks? Does my case fall within 3 weeks?

Will it be the same assessor of SPass application that will decide the outcome or it will be randomly distributed to all of the assessors?

Thank you in advance.

@mavenda every application gets assigned to a case/ application officer. Appeals usually take 4-8 weeks per MoM website, but if all is well, appeals get an outcome within 4 weeks utmost.

Mistakes happen, that’s why the provision for appeals is there- if it has been successfully addressed, it should be ok.

Nobody here can decide an outcome, we can just guide you based on experiences.

Hi! I got my IPA letter today. I am planning my flight to Singapore. Is the IPA enough for me to no longer book an onward ticket or should I enter as a tourist regardless of the fact that I come to work with an IPA. Thanks in advance.
beppi
If you come to work, you are not a tourist. No need for return or onward ticket!

@mavenda

IPA is your visa to enter Singapore and also your pass to secure your SPass once you have entered Singapore.
