Hi guys, I got my visa yesterday.
Here’s what the timeline looked like -
Application submitted to VFS New Delhi - 10th June 2022
Visa received on - 26th September 2022
So I got the visa in 3.5 months.
Few things -
On 17th June (7 days after my file submission), I had got a call from Belgium embassy in India asking for an additional document which was missing from my file.
I sent that the next day over email. I think this saved me time because once it reaches BE and then they ask for additional documents then it takes longer for the visa to come.
I followed up with the embassy on 12th Aug regarding status and they asked me to wait.
Interestingly, my application never appeared on the tracker (Dofi website) which was making me tense as I saw so many people said they are able to track their file on the dofi website.
So my suggestion is that even if the file doesn’t appear on the tracker there is nothing to worry.
@arsu sahoo hi I got my visa yesterday. Took me 3.5 months from the date of application.
@Loc Tan Nguyen

Hai brother,
I'm Muthukumar Selvaraj from India, Tamilnadu and I looking for a single permit for Belgium. I received my social security email 27th of June 2022 but still haven't gotten any email info from the embassy. Kindly assist me with the single permit for Belgium.
And then what's the best way for my girlfriend's visa. She is working in India as a Respiratory Therapist and also we are not married yet. Give your valuable advice to us. Thanks in advance for your valuable time spent with me.
@Deep Basu Oh wow congratulation! I am also still waiting for 2 months now for the same visa. I have been scouring the internet to see how long I should expect to wait, and have been told to expect 6-9 months wait which is far too long. You're one of the first around here with decently good waiting time and can only hope that it's the norm and not the exception. Cheers!
@Tanvirul Hoque

not yet
@Tanvirul Hoque you might the decision soon. When I had contacted, I got a reply saying they are busy in processing April files.

When did you called, IBZ
@Shinta Dewi They asked me to provide certificate of residence indicating the registered address. Good luck
@dianbee06 Thank you. Actually, my wife and I are both Vietnamese. Good luck to you
@Tanvirul Hoque IBZ isn't giving proper response. I had mailed to GH Visa on 26th September regarding my status.
@Deep Basu congratulations... I had applied on 15th July 2022. But no updates yet. Hoping for the best.

@Tanvirul Hoque congratulations... Then it's real that they are processing April and May files now..
@Tanvirul Hoque Congratulations. Its been a long wait
@raulrathod , thank you . Did you get any updates.
@Tanvirul Hoque Nope. Still waiting. I applied on 24th March. The wait continues....
@smuthu hi I’m so sorry to keep you waiting on my reply. Actually I’m no expert. All i can say is that if your file is good and you have all documents given they will give you the visa. I got mine in 3.5 months which includes the summer vacation. Good luck.
@edwin.arch hi i am so sorry to keep you waiting on my response. I must say I feel lucky to have gotten the visa within 3.5 months and that too with the summer vacation falling in between. I do see others waiting for a longer period. When i got to know that my passport and documents are back from BE, I was shocked that how is it possible that they made a decision so soon? I was scared to a point that maybe they didn’t accept!
What worked for me (I think) -
- I had a missing document which the embassy in Delhi pointed out by calling me. Had the same thing come from Aliens office in BE then it usually takes more time. So you can say the BE embassy in Delhi saved me a whole lot of time by checking my documentation thoroughly.
- My spouse works for a BE company. Maybe that helped the process go through faster.
- My documents were perfect. I started collecting my documents from March and applied in June. So you can understand how I made sure they are not only the right documents but they are also in order.
I literally went through shit collecting my documents. There were so many hurdles and I cannot tell you how much I toiled at every step. But when the visa comes it’s the sweetest feeling. So just have patience and manifest it to come to you. It will come. Believe in it.
Got our visa yesterday.
Applied - March 24th
registered - April 27th
additional documents - Sept 20th
additional documents - Oct 11th
visa granted - oct 17th.
our timing is really unusual and not be taken as a reference because I changed employers during the process and also got my Belgian ID renewed. Therefore additional documents were asked for twice.
Finally got my wife's and son's visas.
Wish you the best
@raulrathod wow that’s amazing to hear. I can see how long you have been waiting. Congratulations 😊
@Deep Basu yes.. quite a process. Relieved now
@raulrathod what were these additional documents they requested twice?
@Kendy Makere
The first time - new employment contract and new ID card (i had renewed) and health insurance - this was submitted in Belgium via email.
The second time - Travel insurance for my wife and son - this was submitted in the VFS office in India physically.
@raulrathod Just one query - I wasn’t asked for a travel insurance. We just submitted the insurance attestation that my wife’s company has for spouses. My name was mentioned on it that I am covered in the health insurance. I called BE embassy and even they said that health insurance is enough for travel. Are you doing anything different here?
@raulrathod,
I have update from vfs global saying submit additional documents,
Please provide Presentation of the proof of registration of the rental agreement.
What does this means I have submitted the rental agreement along with registration documents registered in my rent site.
Need to do something else can anyone guide me please.
Thanks in advance .
I have just got my dependent visa. Please find my timeline below
--> Date of application: 15 July 2022
--> Date of registration by immigration office: 17 August 2022
--> Asked for additional document: 24 Oct 2022
--> Provided additional document: 27 Oct 2022
--> Decision: ACCORD on 27 Oct 2022
Note:
* Missing document - Health insurance mutelle even though we had bought travel insurance
* If you receive the status as "Awaiting receipt of documents supporting the visa application which will be sent by the Belgian diplomatic/consular post by diplomatic bag." then please email them as soon as possible regarding the same.
In my case the approved the same day I provided the document
* The status gets updated the next day early morning
All the best to everyone!
Hi, Anyone applied in Oct 2022? My wife applied for reunification visa on 14th Oct we are still waiting for update. Our application is still not registered with Immigration office.
Thanks in advance.
@arsu sahoo
I have been asked to submit the below documents:
1) Rental contract - This is the certificate that we get from my rent?
2) Employment contract - Is this annex 46?
3) The correct ' certificate for family reunification ' of the health insurance fund (proof of affiliation) - what is this one? i have already provided travel insurance at the time of application submitted and it was expired 28/11 , did they want a new travel insurance or other health insurance ( it will applicable once she arrived here?)
Can you please give an update soon
can anyone help plz?
@madhankumar 1026
Hi,
For rental agreement we had shared both the actual contract signed with owner along with the doc from myrent.be
For employment contract my husband had shared his actual contract from employer where the amount DOJ etc. will be mentioned.
And as part of health insurance, you need to ask your insurance company to add your wife’s name to your muttelle . It will be valid only after she arrives but still you need to add her name. Contact to insurance company and let them know that you need it for Visa purpose. They will understand.
please let me know if you need anything else.
thank you @arsu sahoo, For Employment contract can you please confirm is it annex 46 or MOE
