E visa requirements

Post new topic

Hi! I've applied for Vietnam eVisa from the official portal and it was denied with the reason "full name incorrect".
I've seen the posts about how to enter the name in the application so I was 100% confident I do it correctly. I would like to double check with the community whether I did it right.

I hold an Uzbekistan passport and my name looks like this (name changed):

Surname: ANVAROVA

Given names: SARVINOZ

Father's name: BOTIR KIZI

And the ICAO line is like this:

P<UZBANVAROVA<<SARVINOZ<BOTIR<KIZI<<<<<<<<

So in my application I entered:

Surname: ANVAROVA

Given name: SARVINOZ BOTIR KIZI

Is it correct?

Hi there, zakaz madam. Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear of the trouble your having.

Yes, your name order absolutely is correct. I wrote the following to another member, klikster, on a different thread. Their denial issue mirrored yours.

"It would appear that you've entered your name correctly. I mentioned before that, being human, immigration officers are entitled to make mistakes, as I believe may be the case here. This is not to say that there aren't errors in a different section of your application. The reviewing officer may have keyed in the wrong denial code, mistakenly citing the ICAO name format as the reason for the denial. Do not change the order with which you've entered your name."

Take a look at that post (Link) and see whether any of the other mandatory fields on your application might require amendment(s).

Feel free to ask any further questions prior to (or after) submitting your amended application. Please let the forum know of your application's results. We'd very much appreciate it.

Thank you for prompt reply!

I have just resubmitted my application. I am not sure but I think the mistake I made the first time is the intended number of days of stay did not match intended arrival and departure times. When I opened the application now, they have updated those fields to make them matching.

I will definitely post here once there is an update!

This is Correct.

Except they think "father's name" is also "Surname"

Normally, Most passports have Surname, Middle and First name.

"First +  Middle" names go into the "Given names".

Surname goes to the surname section

We always encourage applicants to apply for the full 90 day maximum allowed days.

Apply for the full 90 eVisa limit at no additional cost. With these eVisas you can enter and exit on any dates within the eVisa's window dates. In other words, with an eVisa valid for 90 days, you are free to enter any time after the valid from date, and leave any time before the expiry of the eVisa without penalty. Take a look at this post, regarding dates-count.

Good luck with the application!

Hi there, and welcome to the forum.

You're certainly not the first member asking for advice regarding completion of the eVisa application when having only a single name. See here for examples (follow links therein).

Unfortunately, until a member responds with their solution we have little confirmed advice to offer you. In the link(s) you'll find alternative suggestions to what you've already tried.

When you do find a solution, we'd very much appreciate hearing back from you. It would be of great assistance to other members.
