Hello,

I need your help.
I live in singapore and i am on Ep. We are french.
Given i can work from home full time, I would like to move to KL with my family
So the question is am i going to get any troubles if i stay less than 180 days in singapore ?
Anyone in this situation ? Challenges? Advices?
Many thanks
beppi
An EP gives you the right to live and work in Singapore, but it is not a must.
Please note that for living and working (from home) in Malaysia, you need an approriate Malaysian visa. I have no idea whether that works if you have no employer in the country - maybe a question for the Malaysia forum?
Also, Singapore taxes only work performed within the country, so there is a possibility to get the income for work performed in Malaysia exempted from Singapore taxes. I don't know the formalities needed for this - ask IRAS!
Since the work done in Malysia is certainly taxed there, this could relief you of double taxation!

First up, you need to check with your employer if they are OK with you to move to Malaysia. To be realistic, an employer sponsors your EP for you to be able to live and work in Singapore, not for you to take the sponsorship and relocate to another country.

Every employer has levies that are paid for foreign workers for the sponsorship.

As Beppi mentioned, you may move to Malaysia with a valid Malaysia visa, get tax rebates etc- but honestly it has to be something that is encouraged by your employer.

Pease am ia Cameroonian  living in Belarus I want to move to Singapore to start living and working there but I don't have someone to pick me at the airport and try help me show around and apply for a job too

Mankaa: I think picking up at the airport and showing around are the least of your issues. First you need a job and a visa! Read related discussions on this forum about these topics - and follow as much of the advice as possible.

Mankaa: Your profile shows you are from Belarus, but your post says Cameroon. This cannot both be true!
In any case, as I wrote above: On this forum you can find lots of advice on the topics you asked about. Please read and follow as much of it as possible!
Visa-free applies to a (30 days) visit only, not a long-term stay and work, for which a visa is not easy to get.
During a short visit, you must stay in a hotel. Singapore is not cheap: Budget min. S$200 - 300 per day for everything (incl. accommodation, food, transport and some sightseeing). Such a trip will of course increase your chances to find a job, but you will have to return to your country to wait for the work visa.
