Should we pay to get a Job ?

So, I had been approached yesterday  by a Recruitment agency "***". They claimed to act as a third party manpower supply between job-seekers and top level companies. I saw the job advertisement here at linkedin. Soon after I filled out the form at their web portal, I received a call from a mobile number, her accent sounds asian. She asked me if i am available for interview tomorrow in the morning  and I said yeah sure I am available. Then she just simply said send me a whatsapp message at the same number and I will send you our location. I just sent a message with "Hi , Nasir Mughal here" and I got an automated reply with location. I prepared myself and went this morning to their office at Al Rigga building. I saw there are some 4 or 5 guys already sitting at reception area. I thought maybe they arealso  applicants waiting for interview. I approached the receptionist and told him about the interview call and he asked me if I got the whatsapp message regarding location. I said yes and he said show me the message. I showed him the message and surprisingly in no time the guy came and called my name and said “come inside the room for interview”

Interview was also interesting. He just asked me if I am ready for the job I applied for. I said sure that's why I am here. He said “although you don't have any experience, its fine because you will get the initial training. So, you are qualified for the job. Just one formality to do. You have to pay some Dh 1500 at the time you receive the offer letter, "not much"😆. And Dh 1500 to pay for E-Visa approval. They are even ready to give receipt as processing fee. I replied can you give me back hard copy of my resume he asked why? I said I don't have money to pay for getting hired and he insisted that we can't give you back hard copy of resume even if I asked him countless times.  He insisted no we can't and asked me to leave the room.

In the corridor, I told my friend that he is asking money for job placement. Later my friend told me that as he entered in the room he asked him are you with Nasir Mughal he said yes, and the same thing he told him too. However this time he dropped from Dh 1500 to 1000 since he hold a residence visa. Then another guy came and he asked me , your interview done? I said yes and he told me “leave the office please” .
These people are heartless and should be ashamed of themselves. Your victims are poor innocent blue collar job seekers. We hardly survive on a daily basis.

Remember, job seekers are sellers and employers are buyers. In most cases, commission to the broker is paid by the buyer; with recruitment agencies and hiring there is no exception.
Note :-
(Recruitment Agencies warned against collecting fees from job-seekers it is illegal as it is against the Labour Law )

I am saved because  I am well aware about law and the regulations. But what about other poor gentlemen. How many illitrate or uneducated, or rather non-skilled people out there being get scammed and cheated on a daily basis 😔. This is but a sad and disappointing experience.

My humble request to the companies: please for God’s sake don't ask visa expenses to a job seeker who is on visit visa. We are barely surviving even for our daily meals and the rent for staying.

Spare us from your evil works. Karma is digital. Your deceitful acts put our poor brothers and sisters into more compromised situation.

This will never be forgotten. 💪
