I’ll start a question here, how is the reality now for getting a PR through Holding of an EP or S Pass?

My colleagues encouraged me to apply and told that back 15 years ago, they got PR easily from this scheme. My colleagues at the present, are still at managers level.

I am skeptical. Reality definitely shifted. But keen to know how many attempt should be made until it is successful.

The reality is that:
1. The vast majority of applicants granted pr are of Chinese (preferably Malay) ethnicity. People of Indian ethnicity will generally go to the bottom of the pile so to speak.
2. You have to be in the highest income bracket or depending on age, the potential to be so in the future if you’re not ethnically Chinese. Note however that high earning expats who shift countries every few years are typically not granted pr.
3. Having at least one male child will earn you bonus points.
4. Owning (high value) private property is a big plus.
5. If you’re over 40 chances are slim unless you’re incredibly wealthy.

Most People thought that how much they earn and how high is their education is the main deciding point for getting a PR. However, there are a lot who are EP holders with income of $10,000 or above, seeking  help to get their PR due to multiple rejection from their self-applications.  On the other end,  S-Pass holders with income $3,000 or below, manage to get their PR easily.
it depends on how you make your PR application standout and fullfill what ICA wants from each applicants.
but it is a broad topic and a lot of aspects to be considere
