EP rejection due to high salary

idkw
Hi everyone
I have been working in Singapore for 5 years in the same company and decided to grab a better opportunity in a new company. Now it comes to my worry, I have read that some of you got EP rejected due to high salary so I need your help to assess my profile.

I’m holding a Ph.D. in Science and Technology from a known university. My current basic salary is $6000 x13 + 4x bonus so my annual income is above $100k ($8300 a month). I got an offer from the new company as a manager and they are willing to give me $10k. Based on my situation, I believe that the EP renewal will be rejected due to the low basic salary and there is a chance of new EP rejection due to the high salary offered by the new company. Everything is so complicated.

The authorities here only consider contractually guaranteed income. I assume this is 13 x S$6k = S$78k in your case. If the new job pays 12 x S$8.3k = S$99k, this is a 28% raise. The new employer should submit a good justification why you are worth that much more to them and how this would benefit the Singapore society.

@beppi Thank you so much. The main reason that I decided to leave my current company is that my salary is lower than the market benchmark and the new company value my education and experience.
