Geotechnical engineer
I am a 29 years old Geotechnical engineer and outdoor activities enthusiast, with a passion for nature and travel! After a few adventures being a natural hazards mitigation project manager in French Polynesia and two years of travelling around the world, I am now looking for new challenges and opportunities in Europe.
Geotechnical Engineer and Main natural hazards mitigation project manager – 4 years :
-> Deal with both public and private clients in the need to protect their infrastructures from natural hazards such as landslides and rockfalls
-> In charge of creating the contract with the client, assessing the risk including on-site observations with rope access in difficult terrain conditions (cliffs and dense vegetation), designing solutions to mitigate the risk, contracting with the construction company and works supervision until project’s final delivery
-> Working together with a CAD designer under my supervision to create plans and share the work supervision workload (site meetings etc…)
-> Technical and financial monitoring of projects, invoicing, management of deadlines
-> Projects including :
-Shotcrete
-Plated and hung mesh
-Rock screens
-Retaining walls (rockfill, reinforced concrete, gabions)
-Nailed walls
-Earthworks
-Micro-blasting
-> One-off interventions on broader projects such as:
-Roads and diverse networks (plot development, development of a sports complex)
-Development of a Himalayan footbridge and a hiking trail
