Primarily, I work in the field of digital marketing, where I specialize in leveraging online platforms to help businesses grow and succeed. I have extensive experience in developing and implementing effective marketing strategies, managing social media campaigns, and optimizing online presence.

In addition to digital marketing, I am also involved in property management, where I handle the day-to-day operations of rental properties, ensuring tenant satisfaction and property maintenance.

Apart from my professional pursuits, I am actively engaged in the entertainment industry. I have a passion for acting and modeling, and I have had the opportunity to work on various projects, including commercials, short films, and photo shoots. Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the outdoors through hiking and swimming. These activities allow me to connect with nature, unwind, and recharge. I also have a strong social side and enjoy spending time with friends and loved ones, exploring new places, and trying out delicious vegan cuisine.

Given my diverse background and experiences, I believe I can offer a unique perspective as an expat, and I'm excited to share my insights and stories with readers through this magazine interview.

What brought you to Mauritius? For how long have you been here?

I have a strong personal connection to Mauritius as well. On my father's side, I am half Mauritian and have been visiting the island on holidays since I was a child. These trips allowed me to immerse myself in Mauritius's rich culture, beautiful landscapes, and warm hospitality. From an early age, I fell in love with the place and developed a deep affection for its people and way of life.

Having spent many memorable moments on the island, I always dreamed of living in Mauritius and experiencing its beauty on a more permanent basis. Opening a restaurant was an opportunity to not only pursue my passion for culinary arts but also fulfill my long-held dream of making Mauritius my home.

Over the years, my connection to Mauritius has grown stronger, and I have developed a deep appreciation for the country's cultural heritage, traditions, and natural wonders. It brings me great joy and a sense of fulfillment to be able to live and work in a place that holds such a special place in my heart.

As a third-culture child, how was the culture shock for you when moving to Mauritius? Was it easy to adapt?

As a third-culture child, the transition to living in Mauritius was certainly an adjustment, but it wasn't necessarily a culture shock for me. Growing up with a mixed cultural background and having visited Mauritius on holidays, I had already been exposed to the Mauritian culture and way of life to some extent.

That being said, there were still aspects of daily life and societal norms that differed from what I was accustomed to in my home country. Moving to a new place always presents its own set of challenges, such as adapting to a different language, local customs, and social dynamics. However, because of my familiarity with Mauritius and my connection to the country through my heritage, the adaptation process was relatively smooth for me.

One advantage of being a third-culture child is the ability to navigate and embrace different cultures more easily. I had already developed a sense of flexibility, open-mindedness, and curiosity about other cultures, which helped me integrate into Mauritian society. Additionally, the warm and welcoming nature of the Mauritian people made it easier for me to feel accepted and find my place in the community.

Of course, there were still moments of learning and adjustment, but overall, I found it relatively easy to adapt to life in Mauritius due to my previous exposure and personal connection to the country.

What do you like the most and the least about Mauritius?

When it comes to Mauritius, there are numerous aspects that I genuinely adore. The most appealing aspect, without a doubt, is the island's breathtaking natural beauty. From the pristine beaches with crystal-clear turquoise waters to the lush green landscapes and stunning mountain ranges, Mauritius is a true paradise. The picturesque scenery provides a sense of tranquility and allows for countless opportunities to connect with nature through activities like hiking, swimming, or simply unwinding on the beach.

Moreover, the rich cultural heritage of Mauritius is something I greatly appreciate. The island's diverse population and multicultural society contribute to a vibrant blend of traditions, cuisines, and celebrations. This cultural fusion creates a unique and harmonious environment where people from different backgrounds coexist, interact, and learn from one another. Exploring the local markets, savoring the delicious fusion of Mauritian cuisine, and participating in cultural festivals are experiences I truly cherish.

In terms of the least favorite aspect, it is challenging to pinpoint anything negative. However, like any place, Mauritius has its own set of challenges and areas for improvement. One aspect that could be enhanced is the transportation infrastructure, particularly public transportation options, to facilitate more accessible and sustainable movement across the island.

Overall, my love for Mauritius outweighs any minor concerns, and the positive aspects, such as its natural beauty and rich cultural diversity, make it an incredible place to live and cherish.

What does your everyday life in Mauritius look like?

In my daily life in Mauritius, I follow an intermittent fasting routine, shaping my schedule and eating habits. Mornings are typically dedicated to starting the day with a moment of tranquility, such as meditation or enjoying a cup of Mauritian tea while taking in the scenic views. I then engage in my professional commitments, focusing on tasks and projects related to digital marketing, property management, acting, modeling, or voice-over work.

As I practice intermittent fasting, I usually skip lunch and continue to maintain the fasting window during the afternoon. This provides me with an opportunity to immerse myself in the physical activities that Mauritius has to offer. Whether it's hiking in the breathtaking landscapes, taking a refreshing swim in the ocean, or participating in other outdoor pursuits, I embrace the island's natural wonders and stay active while in a fasted state.

Evenings are dedicated to socializing and connecting with friends and loved ones. I enjoy the vibrant social scene in Mauritius, which can include exploring local restaurants, attending cultural events, or simply spending quality time with friends. These activities allow me to engage with the community and experience the rich cultural heritage of the island.

On weekends, I take advantage of the extra time to further explore Mauritius. This may involve embarking on island excursions, discovering hidden gems, or simply enjoying the serenity of the stunning beaches and natural surroundings.

Throughout the day, I prioritize proper hydration to stay refreshed and energized. When it's time to break the fast, I focus on consuming nourishing meals that align with my dietary preferences, such as the scrumptious vegan options that Mauritius has to offer.

Embracing the intermittent fasting lifestyle while living in Mauritius allows me to optimize my daily routine, stay active, and fully appreciate the beauty, culture, and experiences this incredible island offers.

How do you juggle your professional life as a property management specialist, digital marketer, actor and model, and your personal life?

Flexibility and Adaptability: I understand that unexpected situations may arise, requiring adjustments in my schedule or plans. Being

adaptable and flexible helps me navigate these situations while maintaining a balance between work and personal life.

Self-Care and Well-being: Taking care of myself is crucial for managing a busy lifestyle. I prioritize self-care activities, such as exercise, meditation, and relaxation, to maintain physical and mental well-being. This helps me stay energized, focused, and better equipped to handle the demands of my professional and personal life.

Support Network: I rely on the support of family, friends, and colleagues who understand and respect my commitments. They provide encouragement, assistance, and a valuable support system, allowing me to navigate the challenges and joys of juggling multiple roles.

By combining these strategies, I strive to maintain a harmonious balance between my professional life as a property management specialist, digital marketer, actor, and model and my personal life. It requires dedication, discipline, and adaptability, but the rewards of pursuing diverse passions and maintaining personal fulfillment make it all worthwhile.
