How to proceed to find a job in Santa Ana? What are the most promising fields? Find out in this article.

Located in the San Jose province, Santa Ana is the capital city of the canton bearing the same name. Stretching over 61,4 km², the city is found in the hills, in the west of San Jose and Escazu. Its population, to date, amounts to some 34,500 inhabitants. Santa Ana is a popular city with diplomats and expatriates in general due to its mountainous landscape. Being located in San Jose's suburbs, you can even reach the latter's city center within 15 minutes.

Economy

Thanks to its proximity with the Costa Rican capital city, Santa Ana has developed into a very modern and dynamic city. For instance, it hosts many shopping malls, residential neighborhoods, as well as private bilingual schools. Being closely linked to Escazu, it is also involved in the region's progression.

Santa Ana also hosts two free zones, called Forums, which include many national and international companies, as well as the Bolsa Nacional de Valores, which is the National Stock Exchange. These make a significant contribution to the region's economy.

Find a job

Internet is, of course, an essential search tool in terms of employment thanks to numerous general and specialized websites, as well as professional social networks. But Santa Ana has other resources which you can definitely exploit during your job search. Indeed, the city's Oficina de Intermediació is a free job fair that has been set up by the municipality. Its objective is to facilitate the link between job-seekers and public and private companies that are looking for staff.

If you are already on the spot, you can call at its office which is found in the municipality's building. The Oficina de Intermediación is open from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 3.30 pm. You can also contact them at 2582-7321 or by e-mail at bolsadeempleo@santaana.go.cr. Feel free to browse the Directorios Costa Rica as well to have a list of companies operating across the city.

Once you have selected a few companies in which you are interested, consider sending them spontaneous job applications, and why not pay them a visit.
