Electrical Engineer
Applicant must be a graduate in the Electrical Engineering field from a recognized University and must be a member in good standing with a Professional Association. Individual must have a minimum of 15 years (senior engineer) and 10 years (engineer) of applicable experience in the electrical engineering field. The applicable experience must have been acquired by working in a Consulting Engineering Office which specializes in the petrochemical industry or while working for Operating Companies in the same industry. Applicant must be qualified to undertake detailed engineering and design to the point where the data can be drafted by others. This detailed design experience in the drawing development area must include, but not necessarily be limited to, such areas of expertise as: Area Classification, Single Line Drawings, Layouts covering all categories, Raceway systems (all categories), Schematics (Ladder type), and interconnection drawings, Schedules such as cable, lighting, panel, terminations and similar. Individual must be fully conversant with codes and standards such as the NEC, ANSI, IEEE, UL, CSA, and NFPA and similar, and must be knowledgeable with North American engineering concepts, practices, equipment and materials. Engineering expertise must include the development of equipment and material specifications covering the complete spectrum of power distribution products required for industrial projects. Applicant must be capable of developing purchasing requisitions and undertake the subsequent bid evaluations.
Competent to undertake special engineering studies such as short circuit,
relay coordination and similar
Capable of undertaking conceptual engineering and discharge his duties and
responsibilities in the most productive manner
Capable of meeting scheduled completion dates (a prime requisite)
Experienced with commissioning electrical systems and plant start up
procedures
Capable of logically developing via well documented appropriate calculations
all of his engineering conclusions and decisions
Capable of functioning well in a multi cultural environment
Results oriented, self motivated and be able to work with a minimum of
supervision
Having an excellent command of the English language (written and spoken)
Computer literate and must have good typing skill
