OSOMO

HI EVERYONE,
CAN ANYBODY TELL ME THE PROCESSING DURATION OF A WORK PERMIT VISA FROM LIBYA BECAUSE I HAVE GOTTEN AN OFFER FROM A COMPANY IN LIBYA AND THEY'VE COLLECTED MY DOCUMENTS SINCE TWO WEEKS AGO AND I WAS TOLD THAT THE REFERENCE NUMBER IS NOT ISSUED YET BY LIBYAN EMBASSY IN LIBYA.
I WILL REALLY APPRECIATE RESPONSE PLEASE.

There isn't any Libyan Embassy in Libya. Perhaps you are referring to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Libya? The time for issuing visa is not fixed. Could be from 3 weeks to 2 months, even more, depending on a lot of factors, like your nationality, the company you are applying permit for, your line of work, etc. Just wait and hope for the best!

THANKS VERY MUCH. I WAS JUST BOTHERED THAT IS TAKING TOO LONG.

Took me nearly 6 months to get mine, back that was partly due to the ineptitude of my employer, combined with the ruthless inefficiency of Libyan bureaucracy.

As I read thru your posts, it's clear to me now that visa processing do took time...however we were informed october 14 that the visa will arrive the following week and that we will be off to Libya to teach in Misurata University, so we filed for a leave of absence without pay to the schools where we currently are teaching...As it shows, we haven't heard a word from the agency yet, all they could say is "Sana nga po dumating na ang visa"....this is very ridiculous, I could have taken the time out to read the forums, this way I will be warned off filing a leave of absence right away...but could there be a way to follow up or just look into things, if they really are processing our visa or not?...thanks and I do appreciate your posts....

They could get you here on a business visa which doesn't take too long to process (all depends on your employer and the person who deals with these issues for them) and apply for a residence permit once you are here. I think the only way you can only follow up is through your employer.
