Jumbo operator
A "Jumbo Operator" is a highly specialized mining role where the individual operates a large, multi-boom drilling rig ("jumbo") in underground mines, primarily responsible for drilling blast holes, setting up ground support systems (like bolting and meshing), and ensuring safe and efficient drilling and blasting operations in accordance with mining regulations; essentially, they are the key personnel in preparing the mine face for excavation by drilling and blasting.
