Listen to the good advice of Pal444. I am trying to think of someone I know that was able to last here in any kind of business that were foreigners ( the small guys, of course the Russian folks seem to last). But at some point the gov't gets in ... Read More

From what I know you cannot do this in VN. You cannot buy a hotel in Vietnam just by using a real estate agent. You cannot operate a business in VN as a foreigner until you have legal residency. The way you presented your question it sounds like ... Read More
Why don't Vietnamese understand Vietnamese spoken by a foreigner? by I do believe
Having lived in Vietnam for 6 years and studied Vietnamese at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities it never ceases to amaze me that if I speak and pronounce a Vietnamese phrase perfectly to most Vietnamese, they don't understand me. ...
It's a long thread but interesting to read and I've learned better what is going on. I don't want to get off-topic, only wish to convey to foreigners that, putting aside specifics of vietnamese, that a lot of these same experiences ... Read More

I have recently confirmed that you DO have to leave the country every 90 days under the 1-year visa program for americans. This is largely due to the infrastructure in Vietnam not changing things from the previous 3-month visa program. The ... Read More

Can't deposit cash into my account? by treesahquiche
I was told by Vietcombank that I couldn't deposit cash into my account because I'm a foreigner, and I could only do account-to-account transfers. Apparently only my employer is allowed to deposit money into my account. I'm not really clear on the ...
First let me say that there is nothing consistent about banking in VN. So just because one this the next day can be different with no explanation. I have friend who just opened a sacombank account and deposited cash but he is a foreigner with a ... Read More

I only wish to say that your post is very accurate IMO it it's analysis about the subject in Vietnam. Ageism is common, discrimination based up looks, etc. ... BUT there are mitigating circumstances. Many Vietnamese are very overt in their ... Read More

I wish to run my business from VN, I will earn no money in VN, it will all be Australia based but would pay a few staff members. Would this make it easier for me to obtain a 12 month visa?
Hello, please take many responses here as just opinions though some may be correct yet some others are not good advise. If you attempt to 'run' your biz in VN without properly establishing yourself legally to do said in VN then you are ... Read More
