First, it is a must to point out that I love the Dominican Republic! This country, with all its good and not so good, is one of my favorite places to be. However, this place gets a bad rep, especially when dealing with services, specifically legal ...
When you say "Naturalization", do you mean Temporary Residency, Permanent Residency, Citizenship, or are you part Dominican getting Citizenship? It is a term used by many, oftentimes for many different things. Read More

how do you vet a lawyer in the DR (besides word of mouth)? by wondering9
I'm wondering what I should do, besides word of mouth, to check out a Dominican Republic immigration lawyer. Is there an organization similar to, for example, the American Bar Association, that has a list of all lawyers in good standing? I looked up ...
@wondering9 Just because they're licensed doesn't mean they're good. There are several, well-known, lawyers who run large operations and are nothing but scammers. Word of mouth is the ONLY way to vet a lawyer, and from somebody you know and trust ... Read More

Exactly as ddmcghee says. On initial application, the lawyer handled everything. When it was time for renewal, I asked the lawyer for the login credentials and renewed online without legal help. If your lawyer is not willing to share the login ... Read More

@ElToro305 It all depends on where you are and what is close to you. My company of choice is EncargoPaq and they charge per the actual weight of the package, with a 1/2 pound minimum, I believe. Domex also charges on actual weight, so ask around ... Read More
buying a used motorcycle by brodies2013
Is the process the same for buying a used motorcycle as a usehd car? Can we take possession and do the paperwork later? Or do we need to have a lawyer write up the sales contract and pay taxes, etc?
@Marcus Logan If they only have a copy of the ownership, it means they probably don't own the bike. That is the biggest red flag for this type of purchase. Read More
