I won a poetry competition in 1998 when I was a wee 12 years old. Throughout my teenage years, I experimented and developed my style, and in my mid-twenties, I started writing freelance. I am in the process of starting a satirical blog. Stay tuned!
I joined expat.com on 17 March 2020.

Landing in Bangkok for the first time just two weeks prior to arriving here, my friend and I were like fish out of water. This was the farthest from home any of us had ever been and we had a few thousand pounds each, that was our lot. We blew the lot! Our funds were depleted after a few short months and numerous whimsical mistakes. My friend went home but I did whatever I could to survive, so I took a day job in a Swedish restaurant in exchange for food and a bed. In the evenings, I continued writing to pay off my overdraft and save up for a Macbook and Traktor controller for DJing. My buddy arrived back on the island in August 2014 with my gear and we continued our shenanigans.
The scenery is nothing less than spectacular and the Thai people are amazing. There is a large Swedish community on Ko Lanta and they are some of the friendliest people on Earth.
The high season only lasts for a few months.
