Little late to the party, but it took me 1 year exactly to get my Brazilian license with a full UK one... My issue was that in the UK we don't issue licenses with initials and all my Brazilian documents have my middle names which I've flat out never ... Read More

Any car enthusiast? by antonioggriffin

In the future I will buy a 1975 Chevy Opal.My biggest concern is A/C.I don't think these have air conditioning. Any expats have older car models?Any advice welcome, off-topic advice also welcome.

English Penguin

@antonioggriffinI bought a 1969 fusca a few months ago as we needed an extra car to get me to my office. I had always wanted one (more a kombi) so I knew the disadvantages of owning such an old car before hand such as no aircon, airbags, comfort or ... Read More

Overstay in Brazil by poseidon72

Hello! Is there any other punishment to an overstay in Brazil other than the monetary fine? Let's just say you overstay for 10 days for example. Other than $1000 Reals does the overstay make it more difficult to have future visas approved? Or ...

English Penguin

For what it's worth, I originally overstayed waiting for documents to arrive to finish my marriage process. It was just one document, I had a protocol as well, and I was still denied entry back to the country for 6 months. Read More

Set up a limited company by martinsan

I am exploring the option of setting up a CNPJ to work as a contractor.According to the type of activity, Software Development, it would requite to open a SLU (Sociedade Limitada Unipessoal). I had a look at the government website but it looks a bit ...

Hey, I have done this same process as a Software Engineer. I highly suggest you go to an accountant that specialises in this. Mine handled everything, and its a bonus he works for the local government part time, so he was able to navigate all ... Read More

Dentistry in Brazil - experiences and suggestions by Astroccounselling

I would like to hear about dental experiences in Brazil Following malpractice I have to redo most of the work received and a couple of veneers to. I would like to hear your experience and exchange info. Thank you

Hey, I had a root canal about 5 weeks ago now and a crown put on top. It was actually pretty fine. The dentist specialised in this procedure, so it went without any issues. My tooth was already split in half, so maybe it made the work easier, but it ... Read More

English Penguin

@ka777ching I wouldn't turn up to a land border without the means to pay the fine, and they very likely would tell you to pay this via a boleto. You will be refused entry if you have an unpaid fine and they see that. I'd 100% say go via an ... Read More
