New Cost of Cleaner in Punta Cana by Conifer

Very good book. I had read that a number of years ago. Very sad what happened to her and to know they were not convicted. Read More

Hurricane season by colmcb

Just wanted to share this Youtube channel I found last month. In my opinion, this guy is really good. No drama, no hype - he just details what's going on with the weather and seems to concentrate a lot on the Caribbean. It's "Mr. Weatherman". He has ...

Yes, definitely take photos and video of everything in your home, inside and outside. In the past we've needed that as proof of damage/leaks. Once I year I go through the whole house. I open every closet and cabinet door/drawers to get photos/video ... Read More

Dave, yes, they can certainly be unnerving. And, you learn something from each one. Based on yours and Denise's posts over the past few years, at least it sounds like you've done a great job building a solid house which is so important. :-) Read More

Darlene, yes, Mikes Weather Page is fantastic. I've been following him for years. He's definitely more accurate than many of the other forecasters in the South East U.S. And a list is a great idea. I always do my prep in April for hurricane season. ... Read More

USA State Residency by sparks1093

Good morning, Expat family! Yesterday I had a thought and started doing some research about it. But how do you handle residency issues in your home state? This is what I mean- in Vermont you need to live here 183 days out of each year in order to be ...

colmcb

@sparks1093 - No, the age of the car is determined by the manufacturing date on that car, not the date it arrives in the DR. And, remember that you must own it outright, with the title, for a minimum of one year prior to shipping it. If you're going ... Read More

Property websites by Duanaibh

Hello,I have a question about property websites in the Dominican Republic and I thought this forum might be a good place to ask it on: I am thinking of buying an apartment in the Dominican Republic and there are a few websites I've come across that ...

I definitely recommend NOT relying on point2homes. When we bought our lot it stayed on that site with another agent (not the one we used) for a year showing it was still for sale. We had also seen another lot on the site, prior to buying ours, and ... Read More

Personally, I love locrio and you can make it with so many different meats - chuletas, langoniza, pollo, etc. Not a fan of sancocho at all, but that's a local favorite for many. :-) Read More

Buying a golf cart by travellingfairies

Hola! Can anyone recommend where to buy a golf cart in the Punta cana area? New or used. Thanks

I'd ask around on some of the Punta Cana FB groups. You're bound to get a number of people responding. Or, if you know anyone who lives at one of the various golf communities, ask them to keep their ears open for someone selling theirs. Also, not ... Read More
