How much does the Canadian govt tax us on international income ? Can someone help me with this ? Is it a deal breaker ?

cupacoffee

Can I only drive in Costa Rica for 90 days by Coloradomike

Before I come down to Costa Rica, do I have to get a Visa? Can I only drive in Costa Rica for 90 days with my USA drivers license? I was planning on purchasing a vehicle when I get there.

cupacoffee

Panama has the same requirements in that you have to leave the country to renew drivers license to keep it legal. Read More

Paying with dollars? by Daniel_T

Is it likely that a taxi driver will accept payment in dollars? Similarly, will grocery stores accept dollars?

cupacoffee

I disagree that 'everywhere else you need colones'. We are in a rural area and all our local stores will accept dollars. Most stores will not accept a bill larger than $20. Not the large grocery stores nor in the tourist areas. Read More

Looking for Furniture Stores by lafdbuf

I am looking for furniture stores located within 50 kilometers of San Jose. Hopefully with comments on personal experience with these stores.

cupacoffee

While getting 'custom made furniture' can be fine for some people, not everyone likes the heavy furniture that is often made here. For more modern styles check out La Artistica in downtown San Jose or at various malls. Or look for Aliss also ... Read More
