My partner has been shortlisted for a job at a university in Vacaos, Mauritius - hopefully we'll find out by the end of next week, whether he is successful! If he is, he will be based in Vacaos and I will be looking for a job in urban planning and/or housing and sanitation, preferably working in improving quality of life in the townships (my dream job would be to work for UNDP). I imagine that most job opportunities for me will be at organisations that have their offices in Port Louis. With this in mind, where would you suggest we live? So far, we are considering Flic en Flac in order to be near the beach and a short drive from both our places of work. What is it like? Is there anywhere else you would recommend? We love nature and the coast and countryside. On another note, I would be coming out as a dependent of my partner and then would hope to find work when there and then get an occupation permit once I had secured a job.
