Hello, I am set to arrive in Hanoi August 1st for a teaching job and figured it was time to start getting serious about researching this intriguing city and country. My contract is for 2 years, and I am determined to do whatever I need to personally and professionally in order to adapt to life in another country. I have never lived outside the U.S. before and am told that Vietnam, and Hanoi, are wonderful places to live, once you get used to the differences. Of course I would like to meet other expats, but I am also interested in making friends with Vietnamese people as well.
