Upon graduating from France, instead of getting a job in France, I decided to take a chance by relocating to USA, California, to learn about Sales functions in Hospitality. It allowed me to get acquainted with the local American culture and customs because I knew that once I was in my corporate job, I would not have as much spare time to travel around as I did when I was working in California. It goes without saying that during the first few weeks, months I was just a tourist going around taking pictures of everything I see or meet and met cool folks to discover USA. Every weekends was a great occasion to assemble memories. To reject the stereotypes: yes, its very safe to live in; the country boasts great cuisine from all corners of the world and not just Mexican/Burgers and Margarita; and the people are friendly and easy to connect. From USA, relocated to Europe and Belgium with his 3 cultures (French, Flemish, German), great people very human and friendly, many things to spend time like their forests, their mini villages. If you like beer, Belgium boost great choices for beers lovers. They even have some unique beverages like Pecquet or Zizi Coin Coin. Belgium people are nice and their country is quite unique. Long escape brought me to Middle East / Asia, a geographic zone with many contrasts from man made city filled with Skyscrapers (Riyadh, Doha, Dubai, Hong Kong) with 75% expatriates to the beautiful countries of Asia (India, China, Thailand, Malaysia, Uzbekistan, Iran, etc...). Lived or worked there, is a big eye opening on what the world "standard of living" deserve to teach us. Peaceful religions deliver more messages that the last Gucci or Vuitton bags that your friend may wear. Whether a smile, an old kid game (no iPads) with wooden parts, colored fabrics, old grandpa drinking tea or smoking shisha, street food smell, prayers, friendly disputes, or birds songs, the world has so much to express and fortunately all those experiences are not on TV or Satellite Cables. I rarely read media as life is different from your own pair of eyes. In Mauritius since 8 months, want to take time to discover cultures prior to write about it and make my opinion. Rendezvous in couple of months to complete the chapter.
