So I'm a mixed up kid! Born in the UK, but until a year ago had been living in the USA - Philadelphia - where I was married with 3 kids. I have dual nationality. My maternal grandparents were American (Philadelphia Quaker and New York Sephardic Jewish - my Great Great Aunt was Emma Lazarus who wrote the famous poem on the Statue of Liberty). I had to move back to the UK with my 3 kids after a very difficult separation from my husband. I moved here because all my extended family are here and I needed the support. But I sorely miss my old life, and so many things about America. England is familiar yet so, so foreign. I feel more comfortable in Southern Europe - France/Italy/Spain, but I have no family there. But the kids are happy here and Bristol is a good city. My interests: well, my main focus right now is the children. They are at a fantastic age and are great company. But I do have a live-in aupair, so I am able to have 'child free' time - and after a year here I need to start doing stuff just for me. I love to walk in the English countryside - or hike in the mountains anywhere in Europe (just came back from a trip to South Eastern France and hiked the pyrenees - fantastic! I play cello to a high standard and need to dust it off and find some fellow musicians to play with. I love to sail, ski, ride horses (I had 2 horses in America that I had to leave behind). And I love to read. I'm really hoping to connect with some fellow Americans out there.
