Odd Query by BillyTea

So, here's another odd query. Does anyone know where dried beans, legumes, pulses and the like, can be obtained in catering quantities in Bali ?

BillyTea

Ok, I guess that's a "no" then. What about looking in the rest of Indonesia. Maybe Jakarta ? Or, failing that, regular, domestic quantities ? I can't believe Indonesia is denied the use of such necessary items such as kidney beans ... Read More

Wood, and where to get it. by BillyTea

I just got back to Perth from Bali yesterday. While I was there I decided to build a couple of things in wood. I didn't really have time to look around for wood merchants, but from what I've seen, there doesn't seem to be a lot of ...

Thanks Ubudian, Sukawati sounds like a good place to visit. On my return to Bali (soon but not yet booked) I will go there and view and perhaps buy some of what the merchants in Sukawati have to offer. Then I might visit Ubud for a beer and check ... Read More

Hi Ayambik, The dimensions of the wood which make up a pallet would suit me just fine. I believe they are made of pine. Read More

Hi Ubudian, Well, if you find MSA Kargo at 238 Hyam Wuruk, Sumerta, there is a road opposite JL Pakis Haji. 5 minutes drive/ride along there will put you within a few yards of our kost. As we speak JL Pakis Haji is being paved thank heaven. And ... Read More

Television by BillyTea

Will my TV, bought in Australia, work ok in Bali ? I'm only interested in Indonesian programmes. Don't want to watch Australian programmes. Are TV's cheaper to buy in Bali than in Australia ? BillyTea

BillyTea

Thanks for that Fred. Food for thought. I'm not very computer savvy, and hadn't realised that one could link a projector to a computer. There is a car electronics shop locally who, according to the internet, sell such devices. I'll go ... Read More

Hi Ayambik, Sorry for the late reply. I had in mind to build some furniture. The likeliest source would seem to be pallets, new or second hand. We did have some pavers delivered on a pallet and I was able to use the wood from that for a few little ... Read More

Arriving in Bali a couple of visits ago, I was met with heat and humidity as usual. I had left a cold, dry Perth. The day after I arrived I couldn't stop coughing and felt ill. My significant other persuaded me to see a doctor. She actually took ... Read More
