Expat experience

Since March 2000

Hawaii, USA

finishing my degree, trying to enjoy the good things about this place and ignore the annoying ones

beautiful nature, the ocean, an active volcano, great sushi, great libraries, UH, a safe place

heat, isolation, roaches, everything is expensive,

Berlin, Germany

my old and hopefully someday new home

the seasons, the big city, snow, being able to take quick trips anywhere, Matjes Broetchen, forest and lakes and ducks, great bookstores/ museums/culture, functioning public transportation, sports & music events

rude people, clouds and cold for 8 out of 12 months, not-so-safe, no ocean & no good sushi
