xin chào My name is Sam. I live in Townsville, Queensland, Australia. I am a Royal Australian Navy veteran and a qualified Personal Trainer, with an over indulgent obsession for food. I have a French Bulldog who coincidentally is named Sam too. He is brindle in colour, and turned one in June. He will accompany me to Ho Chi Minh City. I created a profile here to network with other travelers to Ho Chi Minh City, establish social connections and to research housing, and employment opportunities (Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages). I cycled from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City via Mai Chau, Ninh Binh, Hue, Hoi An, Quy Nhom, and Nha Trang in 2013. The highlight of this adventure other than Vietnams breathtaking scenery, and local hospitality (food) was the people. Every day I was challenged by the mountainous terrain, yet high fiving children who ran to the road smiling, excited to say hello, and eating Pho at small roadside serverys was life changing. The tour was operated by Intrepid. I traveled from Australia with my own bike however Intrepid will provide you with one. The group consisted of twelve people of all fitness levels from across the world (UK, Canada, Australia). I feel that this experience gave me a comprehensive introduction to Vietnam. This is the first time I am migrating/traveling outside of Australia for an extended period of time.
