I'm currently an average working Melbournite who has holiday'd in Bali for the last few years. I love the people and although they may not appear to have all that we deem to be the best things in life, I am envious that they still have such a sense of family and community. Something we here in supposedly more affluent countries have so little time or regard for now. I have met so many wonderful people there, one of who resides here in Australia, albeit on the other side of our small country from me. We have kept in touch and both wish to return to Bali to work and get to know the place and people we enjoy so much while holidaying. Yes, a holiday is just that...but we would like to set up our own clothing business based in Bali, hire locals to do the work and give a little back to the people who have been so good to us. Not expecting to make millions just enough to support ourselves and a hopefully a few families along the way. China is an option for cheap exports, but Balinese children need the education, their families need to keep them housed and fed and we would like to help. Don't know where to start apart from the few contacts we have there...any suggetions as to what we need to look out for would be most gratefully received. Or, simply let me know that we are being naive.
