First, thank you to everyone who contributed to my previous posts. Someone suggested visiting Vitoria/Vila Vehla, and I loved the place. It offers a good variety of beach life and some decent restaurants, but it’s still underdeveloped. Most ...
@Peter Itamaraca Really appreciate the insight!!! You’ve quieted a lot of my concerns. That’s been my overall experience throughout most cities in North & South America too. With the exception of Florianapolis and BC/Pria Brava, ... Read More

@Mikeflanagan What's your opinion of Joao Pessoa? Seems like a healthy distance from Recife and still has that little city feel, beaches, and what seems like plenty of restaurants and amenities. Thanks in advance for your help. Read More

@abthree Florianapolis had a couple of good spots and a handful of Mexican restaurants. Restaurante Guacamole Cocina was the quintessential TexMex with a band, and Rosarito Taqueria was a quaint little place with good sauces and music. El Matador ... Read More
How long does it take to be issued an eVisa ? by 56tbourne
Have sent emails to the Brazilian Consulate and they are responding that they were not issuing visitor visas yet. I read that the reciprocity doesn't exist as of Oct 1st 2023 and will need to have a visitor visa, but....you can do it online. ...
Same situation so I changed my flights to be earlier. A buddy of mine said the process should be relatively quick if it's online 24-72 hours max; however, nobody seems to know what volume they will need to deal with beginning October 1. I know this ... Read More

@abthree Thank you again, Sir!!! You recommended Vitoria/Vila Velha in an older post of mine and I really enjoyed the area. I just need a little more of a classy nightlife and a beach I can surf within walking distance. Also, I'm really surprised ... Read More

@alima49 Appreciate the reply. I've spent time in Rio and love the energy, but I hate being in places like Ipanema or Copa at night and the need for discretion. Or the need to watch my belongings and not swim out to far in the ocean because my phone ... Read More

Best beach town for young expat to live in long term by freshbatchoflean
Want to stay near a beach with a good atmosphere friendly people and other people around ages 21-35. Looking for some cities I want to visit on my next trip to Brazil in a couple months
Balneário Camboriú is my favorite so far, but it gets a little chilly in the winter - primarily because of the wind and rain (and I'm not being a weenie, originally from North East US). Depending on your budget Pria Brava is a cool ... Read More
City similar to Balneario Camburio or Florianapolis?! by D.A.B1333
I've been searching for a good city in Brazil (or elsewhere) that is warmer year-round. I like Floripa and BC; however, it gets a little chilly and grey in July & August. I've been to Cartagena, Medellin, Lima, Buenos Aires, Mar de Plata, etc. ...
@abthree Hey! Spent 4+ weeks in Vitoria and had an amazing time. There is a pretty fitness oriented culture with good gyms, the city wasn't overwhelming with traffic or potential crime, prices were similar to Southern Brazil and Rio (a little ... Read More
