My husband's company is considering transferring us to their office in Heerenveen in May of 2014. We will be bringing out daughter who is 12 with us. We currently live in Minneapolis, MN but have also lived in Baltimore, MD and Chicago, IL. We are trying to find out what city is the best to move to which is close enough via train for my husband to get to the office, yet still has an English school for my daughter. Our choices look like Groningen, or Utrecht. I am also looking for hints from others on how to acclimate to the culture coming from the US. For instance, is a car necessary? What types of meat and produce are available? Etc.
