C19 test for airline travel by inntnow

Some countries now require a C19 negative test prior to boarding a flight home. It seems Pasteur Institute used to do testing - in fact, they may still do so but apparently only for testing of passengers on incoming flights. Any idea where someone ...

After more research, I found that CDC VN at 4 Quang Trung does this test but apparently they send it to Pasteur Institute for processing so may as well go directly to Pasteur Institute. Cost is about 750,000 VD. Read More

GRAB: how reliable from NAIA to destinations outside Manila? by Gelato Fish

I'll be landing in Manila midday on a Saturday next month, and contemplating spending two nights in Tagaytay. I regularly use Grab for transfers into the city, but not to locations beyond that, and wondering if it would be risky to expect to ...

Sometimes the airport (yellow taxi) drivers ask passengers if they are in town for a few days, where they are going, etc. Some hire themselves as driver/guide. I was in Manila earlier this year and went to Tagaytay for a couple of days and I hired a ... Read More

Visa cost Nha Trang by Guestposter822

Hi, I used to do 3 month visa extensions for $50 and even as low as $35 in Nha Trang but that was in 2012. Apparently it is now $130. Can people confirm this and what are the best options now ? thanks

inntnow

I'd also like to find a good agent for visas. I was just quoted $230 US for a 3 month single entry (extension) - seems high to me but I had 2 agents quote the same price. Read More

what happened to the annoying book sellers on the street? by Thaiger

particularly in nha trang. in 2009, you couldn't sit for five minutes without a guy or girl walking or cycling with the crassest and most popular books to buy. they were super annoying and pushy and would always try and acres u for the rrp as ...

inntnow

It's not an easy way to generate/supplement income when so many of them are selling the same books. I tried to help one lady by buying from her but she eventually became very annoying by pushing me to buy every time we met even though I had read ... Read More

Danang takes the lead - will Nha Trang follow???

I know I'm in a different country and I want to appreciate VN culture but I find it difficult to accept that so many men "do their business" on the side of the road, on the beach and wherever the urge strikes. I have even seen ladies ... Read More
