Yeah but finding a reliable Filipino version of Jim (at the tone leave your name & number, I'll get back to you) Rockford is just as difficult as finding an honest Filipino lawyer. They'll just string you along.
-@Lotus Eater
You seem to be obsessed with Rockford, what is wrong with Big Frank (Cannon) apart from he won't be chasing anybody1f923.svgand will probably be wasting my fee on twinkies and other snacks.
-@Cherryann01

Lol. Frank Cannon drove a gas guzzling cadillac - given the price of fuel I'd hate to think of the final expenses tab. Perhaps Harry 'O' Orwell - he always travelled by bus..
-@Lotus Eater

Yeh but let's be honest, Frank Cannon was hardly going to fit into a small family size car.

kristopherryanwatson

@Lotus Eater

Nothing wrong with travelling by bus!

I gave up driving a car in the Philippines (at least when in Manila) quite a few years ago.

i couldn't be happier, as driving in Manila, as any foreigner would tell you, is absolutely horrendous.

when travelling from Pampanga to the city, depending on how fast I need to get there and the nature of my visit to Manila, I go via private driver.

I pay Him 5, 500.00 a month for unlimited travel, or being a maximum of up to 500 klms wherever I wish to go.

CA,

All these troubles with your Girl, and  it's a long distance relationship. Not sure what might become of this relationship later down the road, but if she's not going to be honest about what happened with the 150-250k, then i would be very weary about what might she get herself into if and when the two of you might ever get married?

Curious, CA. I hope you dont mind the questioning but:

how did you meet her ?

what kind of work or pastime was keeping her busy at the time that the two of you met ?

I met her on Facebook and we chatted for a few months before I visited her. She met me at the airport in Cagayan De Oro when I arrived and we stayed at the Apple Tree Resort. When we met and still she has a small store, selling basic food stuff, snacks and other necessities. She says business is not so good now and she used to get the help of family members to run the place. Odd thing though is that she told me that this store was left to her by her ex boyfriend and father to her two boys. I always found that strange since I have the impression that most men simply do a runner and forget about their responsibilities when a relationship ends.

Lotus Eater

The Apple Tree Resort. Was that not the place where Adam & Eve dated and she proffered him the forbidden Apple?

In future Cherryanne beware of Filipinas offering fruit especially cherries 1f609.svg

CA, Did that happen to be a Facebook Group of somekind...or did you just happen to message a random girl that FB recommended to you as a friend?

haha. 1f604.svg

Gently poking fun at ya. I don't mean any harm or offence by how you two met. I'm just really trying to understand how your relationship bloomed from the beginning. A lot can be said and judgement of character can be derived from how 2 people met.

It is rare that the ex-boyfriend might leave her something to take care of, other than the kids they might have together - which seems to be run of the mill of how many  relationships meet their demise here, unfortunately. I've certainly had my fair share of female friends only to have learned they are single moms as a result of the ex-boyfriend abandoning the child they had together, or some other story along those lines.

It was nothing to do with a Facebook Group and to be honest it was that long ago that I cannot remember if it was a girl that Facebook recommended or not. What I can tell you is that the Facebook recommendation for friends or friend suggestions does contain a lot of Filipino women, probably because I do have some Filipino friends on there. In fact, just this week I have received two friend requests from Filipinos, one I refused and the other messaged my but after a short exchange of messages it became apparent that she was only interested in dirty talk haha. She was just chancing her arm so to speak because I got a message from a friend of mine who I had only seen the previous week. Turns out she had sent him a friend request also and maybe sent out more.

Regarding the ex boyfriend - funny thing is her Facebook Account did say she was divorced, which I know cannot have been true and she just explained that as a joke. I think there was maybe more to it, maybe she was married all along and her husband just left.

kristopherryanwatson

@Cherryann01

oh maybe...but divorce is not something to laugh about, especially in a country that still does not condone that sort of thing due to the religious implications of sanctimony of marriage and all that.

on the other hand, i do happen to know a few females who have not legally separated from their exes yet do consider themselves separated/divorced.

Anyway, any news you might be willing to share as of late?

i hope she and yourself are on better terms these days....one day at a time.

Another angle to consider -  I hope everyone is still paying attention 😉 If she IS married and her hubby finds out that you guys are ‘ in flagrante delicto’ you could both end up in the slammer. This happened to a Brit a few years back.

I’d call Joe Mannix 🤣

pnwcyclist

CherryAnn did you ever do a background check on her?  Wymoo will do one for about $500. They have someone there check NSO, NBI databases for marriage, children, criminal recs and place of employment. Might be worth it since you have a child with her. Might reveal more. Sometimes not a good thing, lol.

Lotus Eater

And you thought CherryAnne that when you met this Filipina she was going to be ‘ low maintenance’ 😜

OMO but  I simply remember some dude bragging about so many girlfriends in the Philippines and now can't sort out left from right with one?

Cheers, Steve.
