Hello to Nice Expats

Post new topic

Carol Morrison

I'll be in Nice Jan 14-March 18 2023.  Would love to have coffee with anyone living there who would like to discuss their experience of moving there - any lessons learned you might like to share.  I'd also love to hear about anything to do with fine arts, performing arts (eg., Ballet de Monte Carlo), networking groups, hiking groups. touring groups, favorite neighborhoods, etc.  Any information that can add to my understanding of the realities and joys of living in Nice, France.

Please note that your thread is now on the Nice forum.

Will that be your first time in Nice? Why have you chosen Nice?

You can also post an advert in the Nice classifieds section. There is a dedicated category for friendship.

@Carol Morrison I may in Nice then, we have a place in Antibes. Are you living elsewhere in France? Working in the arts? Curious!

Thank you Cheryl for the suggestions.

I have visited Nice a couple of times, most recently in October.  It offers many natural, geographic, and cultural aspects which appeal to me.  I also spent some time in Montpellier, which I like very much - but I like Nice more!

My original notion was to escape winter by coming to Nice, which I will be doing this winter.  My new notion is to consider whether I want to spend more than two winter months in Nice.  So I'm eager to hear input from others who are expats in Nice, the pro's and cons of life there.

I am retired, and very interested in all forms of performing and fine arts, and architecture, so will be pursuing opportunities to explore these.  I will continue my study of the French language, with the goal of becoming truly fluent.

Hi, Thank you for your response.  I'm retired, currently in US, visiting Nice for two months this winter, with the goal of evaluating whether I want to spend more than just two months in Nice. Hence my invitation to coffee to anyone who would like to share their expat wisdom.  Yes, I'm very interested in all arts, fine and performing.
