@brian h hoang Hi Brian. My friends Paul and Duyen don't live in the old quarter but they start celebrating at Thanksgiving and I am betting they decorate. Duyen probably cooks one of her most wonderful meals which is always a combination of delightful foods. Duyen does cooking classes, market tours, and other stuff. I always practiced eating some of all the food she would cook! She is such a good chef and always amazes during the holidays.

When I lived in Hanoi we gathered at their house for the holidays. I will be in Hanoi on 30 December. I will probably make it to old quarter once or so. My good friend Van lives close to there. We will celebrate Tet together for the first time in a few years.

So many things to fill up my 30 day evisa. I'm very happy to be going back this holiday season to spend time with so many wonderful Vietnamese people I have not seen for years. Now I live in Siem Reap so just next door so getting to Vietnam is a lot easier for me.

Have a good Christmas!
