Another media report Thai.News  stated that Unvaccinated travellers can now enter Thailand PROVIDED they undertake a Covid 19 Test upon Arrival.

So be careful not to sneeze or be seen wiping your nose as your lined up……they may ( as a duty of care precautionary procedure) take you aside for Nasal shafting. 😆

Thats Tuesdays update…..who knows what’s next.     Could be worse….China was doing Anal swabs at one stage since they believed it was more accurate.

May I respectfully suggest that given the current requirement to leave the country of VN every 30 days at least, the entry requirements of the nearby countries are critical information for many Expats in Vietnam.

And when it's germane to the thread (you know; on topic?) then nobody alerts admin, the posts are allowed to stand and admin doesn't get involved.

However, multiple times in the past members have taken these discussions down an off-topic rabbit hole that distracts from the key thought of the thread causing anyone following that thread to receive notifications about irrelevant posts (such as your reply and my reply to you).

You've made it clear for years now that you do not support the forum code of conduct regarding off topic posts , so it's no surprise that you are continuing to challenge any admin/expert/moderator who attempts to bring the discussion back on topic.

If you truly have a sincere desire to see people fully informed on such issues, then you would appreciate and support our ability to redirect the discussion of the policies of other nations to the appropriate forum.

Registered members of expat.com can access and post on the forum for any country or territory in the world. including North Korea.

The links are at the top of the page:

"Forum / Asia / Vietnam..."

If you click on "Asia", you'll see all the posts for the entire continent. Scroll down and look for a post about your Asian country of interest. These are listed in the far right column. Click on the name of that country to go to its forum.

If you click on "Forum", there is a listing of every country/territory by continent, starting with Europe. From here, you can access the forum of non-Asian countries by scrolling down to the appropriate continent.

Well, it looks like the exodus may be growing. Yesterday, I spotted two familiar faces from Geezer Lane (Phan Chi Trinh St.) in Vũng Tàu here in Kampot, Cambodia.

They're not doubt enticed by the opportunity to get a one-year multiple entry extension on their "E" visa (not a tourist visa) in spite of the place not being as quite as good as VT in terms of cost of living, choice of accommodation, quality of the food, etc.

I had a good chat the other day with G.N.; owner of the Dingo Deli here in Hội An.

He confirmed that almost every one of his old friends here are gone, mostly due to the inability to obtain at least a 3 month visa (business or tourist type) as they easily could pre-Covid.

Now the area has no lack of 30 day visa warriors believing that somehow they will eventually be able to live here long term, but almost none of those are the previous people who remained on serial 3 month visas (by his unscientific count).

I remember how deeply offended Ciambella was when Vũng Tàu immigration began treating her & her hubby as unwelcome vermin as the time for renewing her 5-Year VEC approached.

Now it's highly unlikely she'll ever be returning to VN.

I'm guessing that former 3-month visa warriors are tending to feel the same way--very offended--so instead of returning and staying on a series of 1-month eVisas, they are opting for other places such as Cambodia (link to visa info on the Cambodia forum; please lets avoid diving into that subject here on the Vietnam forum).

Meanwhile the FNGs haven't suffered that sense of rejection (yet) so they now apparently make up the majority of hopeful foreigners here.

I think 30-day visas are like winters in Canada. The first one is like "wow, great, let it snow!". The second one you're like "so beautiful but darn it's cold" and starting with the third winter it's like "I'm getting the heck out of here" 1f923.svg
