My girlfriend lives in Dominican Republic and is a nail tech. She wants to order products for her nail business from the US but doesn't know if she will get them or if they will be taken by customs. She's looking to get products like monomer, nail gel, polish etc. Does anyone know if these items can be shipped?

Welcome to the forums. Yes she can order and have shipped in.

Aduanas can and will seize items and charge tax and duty.

They are looking for a few things. Anything purchased same day and or arrives same day can be assumed to be 1 purchase. Value over US 200 will be taxed. Volume - anything arriving that could be considered for resale could be taxed. Sometimes buying more than 3 of anything could be taxed.

If she buys 30 bottle of nail gel in all different colors might get through and might not. 30 bottles that are only 5 different colors will be taxed!

By the time she pays shipping etc she may be better off finding a local supplier!
