Hello All,
My wife and I are from the states and have already moved to Nairobi. We have been here for about a month and are still settling in. In the future, we may look at moving to the outskirts of Nairobi to a more rural area. We have learned a great deal from this forum and look forward to contributing what little we know.
Next steps are to extend our visa, secure a flat, buy furniture, obtain a car, apply for the type K permit late this year and enjoy beautiful Kenya along the way.

Hi,
I am from Australia & I travelled to Kenya way back in 1982 for two weeks, and then again in 1993 for multiple visits while working nearby.
I now intend to travel to Mombasa in the next couple of months. So I would like to make contact with some expats who might be there, and/or local people with similar interests.
The purpose of my trip is to check out Mombasa as a destination to live as a full time resident in the future. So I would like to check out the usual things like the real estate market and other facilities like social clubs & recreational activities (eg: gyms, golf & sailing), amongst other things.
Thanks!
Hello Jeff10,
Welcome to expat.com and thank you for sharing your expatriation project with us!
During the times that you've been in Kenya, did you ever visit Mombasa?
It's been 30 years since your last visit in Kenya, I'm sure that a lot of things must have changed now...
If you have any questions, you can start your own thread on the Mombasa forum.
Cheers,
Yoginee

Hi everyone!
I‘ m Priya, currently live in London, UK, however looking to find a job and move to Nairobi.
I am married with 2 beautiful girls, but find bringing them up without support here in the UK a little tough as most of my family are in Kenya, so hence the decision to move over there, husband is also on board as we recently have returned from a 3 week holiday there and he fell in love!!
We both work in financial services here specialising in Risk Management, so any links to jobs would be hugely appreciated!
Look forward to getting to know you all!
@ben6973

@kuldipkenya I want to relocate to Kenya from the US as a retiree. I can satisfy all of the requirements except for Line 25. on Form 25, where it requests "Proposed place of residence (give details of physical address)". I do not have an address. I do not have any relatives in Kenya. What do I do.
Good afternoon everyone. My name is Zack and i will be moving to Kibera soon. At the moment I'm staying a year but could be more. I have work lined up already in Nairobi so I will be commuting from Kibera every day or so. Everything is already taken care of except for housing which i am still in the process of looking.
@Julien I am Ayub Kaniaru Theuri, hailing from Nairobi, Kenya. As a seasoned realtor, building expert, and EIA/EA specialist, I am enthusiastic about assisting individuals interested in relocating to Kenya to fulfill their dream of homeownership.
I am Jerry from the US. I am 73. I expect to make my first visit to India starting in October and probably for 3 months.
Upon reviewing the e-Visa options, the 5 year e-Visa sounds most appealing to me. My only concern about it is, 5 years is a very long time. So I would expect it is harder to qualify for a 5 year than a 1 year. Is that true? Or is the only difference in the processing of the 2, the price?
Hello Jmagill,
Welcome !
Where do you want to move > India or Kenya ?
